Syzygia

2025
Multimedia installation

When three or more bodies align, a syzygy is born: a configuration that generates transitions and cosmic resonances.
In Syzygia, a descent into the nuragic well that has been capturing the moon for three thousand years becomes a passage between subterranean water and celestial water. The viewer becomes the aligning body between archaeological past and contemporary ritual in a syzygy that reactivates with each viewing.

"The video performance retraces the ritual descent down the twenty-five steps of the Nuragic Sacred Well of Santa Cristina, reaching the water that reflects the moon. Through a montage of hand gestures, the archaeological past intertwines with the technological present: a single ritual space, traversed by millennia.
Syzygia is a device of alignment—between death and rebirth, earth and cosmos, matter and light—where transit is not movement between places, but the condition that makes them exist." (Ilaria Pisanu)
